Embedded Functional Safety Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished Functional Safety Engineer with extensive experience in embedded systems to lead safety‑critical projects and deliver ISO 26262‑compliant products for automotive and other high‑integrity applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead functional safety activities for embedded software and IP projects, ensuring full ISO 26262 compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop safety work products such as safety plans, hazard analyses (FMEA, FTA, FMEDA), safety requirement specifications and safety cases.
• Conduct hazard analysis, risk assessment, define safety goals and ASIL classifications, and decompose safety requirements from system to software and hardware levels.
• Collaborate with R&D teams across controller, PHY, FPGA and verification disciplines to embed safety practices into design, implementation and verification.
• Coordinate safety reviews with internal stakeholders and external certification bodies, and maintain traceability of safety requirements using tools like DOORS or Polarion.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in functional safety engineering, embedded systems development or safety‑critical software, preferably in automotive.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 26262 (parts 4, 6, 8) and proven success in delivering safety work products that passed third‑party assessment.
• Strong background in embedded software development, including C programming, RTOS implementations and safety‑relevant architecture patterns.
• Professional functional safety certification is highly valued.
