Electronic Technician

About the role

ABB is seeking a skilled Electronic Technician to support automation, robotics, and PLC‑based manufacturing equipment. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of electronic and pneumatic systems in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Document, identify, and organize electronic, electrical, and other schematics.
• Perform day‑to‑day electronics, general electric, and pneumatic repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Support test equipment maintenance and repair.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic PC boards.
• Calibrate electronic instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electronic equipment.

Required profile

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with PLCs, automation processes and/or robotics.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and simple programming routines.

Required skills

• PLC programming (ladder diagrams, sourcing & sinking concepts).
• Analog‑to‑Digital (ADC) and Digital‑to‑Analog (DAC) interfacing.
• Instrumentation and industrial electronics knowledge.
• AC/DC concepts and basic electronics communication.
• Serial and parallel communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, BACnet, TCP/IP).
• Use of multimeter and oscilloscope.
• Programming languages: C, Basic.
• Basic PC knowledge, MS Windows and MS Office.
