EHS Professional III

About the role

AbbVie is seeking an experienced EHS Professional III to support its Environmental, Health and Safety programs. The role ensures compliance with regulations and company policies while promoting a safe work environment across its facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the Chemical Process Safety Program to meet regulatory and AbbVie technical standards.
• Coordinate and deliver specialized safety trainings such as CHAP, confined‑space, ergonomics, hot‑work permits, fire extinguisher use, OSHA laboratory standards, record keeping, CPR, First Aid, Emergency Response, and HAZWOPER.
• Define, coordinate, and maintain industrial hygiene programs, including monitoring, respiratory and hearing protection, and ergonomic initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations for fire, spill, and medical events and develop corrective actions.
• Oversee the Medical Surveillance Program and ensure proper documentation.
• Develop safety criteria, conduct EHS self‑assessments and risk assessments, and provide guidance for federal and local regulatory compliance.
• Prepare, revise, and implement EHS procedures and reporting systems to satisfy corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain extensive computer usage and operate within a clean‑room environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience in environmental, health and safety roles.
• Proven ability to lead training, investigations, and compliance initiatives.
