Director of Events

About the role

The Director of Events will lead all club‑wide functions, from member parties and private gatherings to major and minor golf tournaments. You will shape the Discovery Land Company experience for members and staff, ensuring every event reflects the brand’s unique vibe.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the club’s mission, vision, and values through daily event operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the events team, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and staffing agencies, creating a comprehensive supplier database.
• Oversee planning, execution, and post‑event evaluation for all club, private, and tournament events.
• Collaborate with Member Services and Member Experience to manage a master event calendar, coordinating sales, marketing, and communications.
• Organise planning meetings, develop budgets, and produce Banquet Event Orders, critical paths, floor plans, mood boards, and timelines.
• Design event flyers and promotional materials using Canva.
• Communicate event details and changes clearly to departmental managers and staff.
• Lead the weekly Events Meeting and pursue additional catering and event revenue opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in events management within luxury hospitality or resort environments.
• Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and maintain high member satisfaction.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on budget adherence and operational excellence.
