Design Engineer (EU)

About the role

Ashby, a talent acquisition platform used by recruiters and hiring managers, is hiring a Design Engineer in the EU. The role combines design and engineering: you design features and implement them in code, working on a product at scale (over 100,000 weekly active users) alongside the recruiting team and hiring managers.

Key responsibilities

• Solve the most challenging design problems on the product.
• Expand and enhance the in-house design system so other engineers can build consistent, reusable components.
• Consult on bespoke design work needed by Product Engineers.
• Work on the UI and UX of a complex product that balances simplicity for new users with powerful customization and automation.

Required profile

• This posting covers mid and senior levels: 2+ years of continuous experience (internships do not count) as an engineer or designer, with strong proficiency in both disciplines.
• Experience designing products and shipping code to hundreds of users, even through side projects.
• Good visual design taste and execution.
• Comfortable with fast iteration and user feedback, and able to work within sprint planning and defined project management processes.
