Data Science Associate – Fashion

About the role

We are looking for a Data Science Associate to join our Data & Analytics team in Porto’s Digital Campus. The role focuses on applying advanced analytics and machine‑learning techniques to fashion‑related operations, finance and supply‑chain challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced data analysis for Operations, Finance and Supply Chain within the fashion domain.
• Translate business problems into analytical solutions, from requirement gathering to model deployment and monitoring.
• Build, deploy and maintain machine‑learning models (e.g., churn, CLV, segmentation, personalization) using MLOps tools.
• Leverage Databricks, Azure or similar cloud platforms for scalable data processing and model serving.
• Develop data pipelines and models with Python, PySpark and libraries such as scikit‑learn, XGBoost and LightGBM.
• Apply statistical methods (hypothesis testing, A/B testing, confidence intervals) to validate model performance.
• Communicate insights through clear visualisations and storytelling.
• Collaborate with business teams, data engineering and IT stakeholders and contribute to agile team practices.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, preferably in retail or e‑commerce.
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Proven ability to manage the full lifecycle of machine‑learning solutions, from data wrangling to production monitoring.
