Data Quality Analyst (AI Model Data Analyst)

About the role

Focal Systems is looking for a Data Quality Analyst to ensure the training data that powers its computer‑vision models is accurate, consistent, and ready for large‑scale deployment in retail environments. You will work closely with machine‑learning and operations teams to maintain high‑quality image and product datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Review, clean, and correct labelled image and product data used for model training.
• Identify and fix mislabelled, inconsistent, or low‑quality data and flag systematic labelling errors.
• Perform routine quality‑assurance checks to prevent data issues from reaching the training pipeline.
• Onboard and scan new products, ensuring catalogue and reference data are complete and accurate.
• Compare model predictions with ground‑truth data to surface edge cases and under‑performing areas.
• Collaborate with ML and operations teams to refine labelling guidelines and data standards.
• Consistently meet speed and quality KPIs while communicating progress and challenges.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail with a genuine commitment to data accuracy.
• Comfort handling large volumes of data and using spreadsheets for data review.
• Analytical mindset capable of spotting patterns and root‑cause data errors.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills for liaising with supervisors and the ML team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel).
• Experience using data‑review or annotation tools.
