Data Governance Implementation Lead

About the role

Metyis is seeking a Data Governance Implementation Lead with 5‑8 years of experience to join its Data & Analytics team at the Digital Campus in Porto. The role focuses on turning data governance concepts into daily practice for clients across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Help clients translate data governance from theory to actionable daily practices, prioritising high‑value areas.
• Identify priority stakeholders, business pain points and governance gaps together with business and IT teams.
• Define clear ownership roles such as Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Custodians and decision forums, and support adoption.
• Facilitate workshops to align business and technical stakeholders on ownership, definitions and decision‑making.
• Convert broad data governance challenges into clear, actionable implementation approaches.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in data governance or related data management roles.
• Proven ability to work with senior business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating workshops and driving stakeholder buy‑in.
• Strong collaborative mindset across data, analytics, architecture, privacy, security and consulting teams.
• Exposure to diverse clients, industries and complex data environments.
