Data Engineer – Build Scalable Data Pipelines

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Data Engineer to join our technology team in Vila Real and Porto. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining data pipelines that enable reliable reporting and analytics across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Integrate data from various sources into data lakes and warehouses such as Redshift, BigQuery or Synapse.
• Collaborate with product, analytics and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust data models.
• Ensure data quality through testing, monitoring, alerting and documentation.
• Optimize storage and processing platforms and support data governance, security and compliance policies.
• Automate deployments and pipeline maintenance using CI/CD practices and reduce technical debt.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Continuous‑improvement orientation and passion for process automation.

Required skills

• Python and SQL programming.
• Data processing frameworks such as Spark or dbt.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services (Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse, Databricks).
• Orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect.
• CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
• Data modeling and dimensional modeling.
