CyberSecurity Specialist

About the role

Welvaart is looking for a CyberSecurity Specialist to embed security into the design and operation of OT services across its plant operations. The role ensures that industrial control systems are resilient, compliant and aligned with industry standards while supporting safe and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate cybersecurity requirements, controls and architectures into OT service design and evolution (Security by Design).
• Ensure compliance with standards such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001 and relevant regulatory requirements; support audits and risk assessments.
• Validate security controls before go‑live, conduct service readiness reviews and manage secure handover to operations.
• Collaborate with architects, engineering teams, Service Design Owners, SOC/ROC teams and plant stakeholders to balance security, performance, cost and operational needs.
• Drive lifecycle management, including technology upgrades, vulnerability remediation and decommissioning of insecure components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, Automation or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably within OT/Industrial Control Systems.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity into system or service design (not only operations).
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent are preferred.
