Cybersecurity R&D Engineer II

About the role

Join HPE's Junos Cybersecurity R&D team to work at the forefront of securing routers, switches, and firewalls. This hybrid position requires you to be onsite two days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Support security certifications such as NIST FIPS 140, Common Criteria, and EUCRA.
• Develop and enhance product security capabilities, including threat modelling, static and dynamic code analysis, penetration testing, hardware security assessments, and AI‑enhanced vulnerability management.
• Adopt new cybersecurity technologies, execute the cybersecurity roadmap, and provide consulting to engineering managers and product line teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to adapt quickly to evolving cybersecurity challenges.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and networking security protocols (TLS, SSH, IPsec).
• Programming experience in C (preferred), Python, and optionally Rust.
• Familiarity with security certifications processes (FIPS 140, Common Criteria, EUCRA).
• Experience with AI systems for vulnerability discovery and management.
