Customer Service Representative I (Call Center)

About the role
Responsible for providing high-quality customer service to policyholders, members, and providers through inbound calls, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
Key responsibilities
- Ensures confidentiality and proper handling of customer information in compliance with HIPAA and data privacy policies.
- Handles inbound calls following established protocols to achieve first call resolution and document or escalate inquiries.
- Meets key performance indicators such as productivity, schedule adherence, call handling quality, and accurate documentation.
- Participates in initiatives to improve operational efficiency and provides feedback on service gaps.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s Degree or at least 60 college credits/associate degree or high school diploma with relevant experience as outlined.
- Minimum of 6 months (or 1‑2 years) experience in customer service, preferably in a health‑insurance call center.
- Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Required skills
- Medical billing knowledge
- HIPAA compliance knowledge
