Corporate Credit Analyst – Lisbon or Porto

About the role

BNP Paribas is seeking a Corporate Credit Analyst to join its Corporate Coverage team in Portugal. The analyst will produce high‑quality credit proposals, support new business approvals, and help manage the bank’s credit risk exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Assess counterparty and credit risk for corporate clients.
• Collect and monitor key client information, including annual reports and financial statements.
• Liaise with Relationship Managers to understand client strategy, resources, and financials.
• Analyse and summarise credit risk, preparing and completing credit proposals in line with guidelines.
• Participate in continuous improvement of credit processes.
• Monitor client exposure, covenant compliance, and any material changes in ratings or events.
• Maintain portfolio reports and use internal credit tools proactively.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis or financial advisory.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
