Contract Software Engineer – Typescript & Node.js (Remote, Portugal)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate reliable, scalable backend services for investment and financial applications. The role is fully remote from Portugal and combines deep technical work with end‑to‑end ownership of production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑quality backend APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design, implement, and operate serverless solutions on AWS (Lambda, event‑driven architectures).
• Ensure reliability, observability, and continuous improvement of services in production.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Collaborate with product, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver features.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven experience building and operating scalable backend services in AWS serverless environments.
• Ability to take full ownership of services, from design through production support.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
