Commercial Counsel – Technology Company

About the role

DataCamp is a leading platform for data and AI learning. As a Commercial Counsel you will partner with product, engineering, and business teams to draft, negotiate and manage the commercial agreements that enable the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of agreements, including Master Services Agreements, SaaS contracts, terms of service, NDAs, data‑processing addenda and RFP responses.
• Support the licensing of DataCamp’s products and services to customers, channel partners and vendors.
• Own transactions end‑to‑end, from initial redline through execution and post‑signing administration.
• Provide commercial risk assessments and advise internal stakeholders on contractual exposure.
• Ensure compliance with data‑privacy and security requirements across all agreements.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience as a commercial lawyer, preferably within a technology or SaaS environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, make decisions within a defined remit and raise issues early.
• Strong commercial fluency, bias to action and sound judgment on risk versus reward.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on transparency and ownership.

Required skills

• Contract drafting and negotiation.
• Knowledge of SaaS, licensing and services agreements.
• Familiarity with data‑processing addenda and privacy regulations.
• Experience handling NDAs, RFPs and vendor software licensing.
