Civil Engineer – Data Centre Projects

About the role

CTS Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to design, coordinate and deliver civil and structural systems for mission‑critical data centre projects across EMEA. The role works with moderate independence, translating project requirements into resilient, scalable solutions while supporting the company’s digital engineering and BIM initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil and structural designs from feasibility through detailed design and IFC documentation, ensuring compliance with Eurocode standards.
• Coordinate civil design with MEP, architectural and specialist disciplines, working closely with BIM Coordinators to produce clash‑free models.
• Produce drawings, specifications and technical documentation, and review RFIs, design changes and site queries.
• Support construction activities through site inspections, shop‑drawing reviews and liaison with local authorities and licensing bodies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Integrated Master's is a plus); registration with the Ordem dos Engenheiros preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience on critical infrastructure, data centre or high‑complexity industrial projects.
• Intermediate or advanced English and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tekla Structures for steel connection detailing.
• Experience with civil drainage and site‑services design.
• Knowledge of structural calculation and modelling tools such as SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows, BIM authoring software and applicable Eurocode standards.
