Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Large Distribution Company

About the role

The company seeks a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic partner to the President and Board of Directors. The CFO will lead the entire financial function, driving profitability, liquidity, and long‑term value creation for a large‑scale distribution organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s financial strategy in line with corporate vision.
• Direct financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Oversee controllership, ensuring timely financial close in compliance with US GAAP and Puerto Rico regulations.
• Manage capital structure, banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing strategies.
• Optimize working capital across inventory, receivables, payables, and cash conversion cycle.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk policies, and tax, labor, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
• Present results, KPIs, and strategic analysis to the Board and shareholders.
• Modernize financial systems, including ERP platforms and business intelligence tools.
• Build and develop a multidisciplinary finance team, fostering discipline and continuous improvement.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, regulators, insurers, and financial institutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA preferred.
• Active CPA license (or equivalent); CFA or CTP a plus.
• 12‑15 years of progressive corporate finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior financial leadership.
• Proven experience in large‑scale distribution, retail, logistics or manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of Puerto Rico tax and regulatory environment.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience using business intelligence and analytics tools.
• Strong command of US GAAP and Puerto Rico tax regulations.
