Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading BatheraFarm’s financial strategy, planning, reporting and financial governance in Germany, while working closely with the CEO and the wider international leadership team. The CFO will act as a strategic business partner to the CEO, providing financial insight to support sustainable growth, investment decisions, operational efficiency and long‑term business planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario analyses, monitoring performance against targets.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and ensure timely management reports for the CEO and shareholders.
• Manage cash‑flow planning, liquidity, working capital and support financing and capital‑raising activities.
• Own the finance function in Germany while coordinating with international finance, operations, HR, legal and commercial teams.
• Ensure compliance with German accounting, tax and corporate regulations and maintain robust internal controls.
• Support M&A, investment, partnership and other strategic projects through due diligence and financial modelling.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience (CFO, Finance Director or equivalent) in high‑growth or scale‑up environments.
• Strong background in financial planning, controlling, reporting, cash‑flow management and strategic finance.
• Experience working in an international or multinational setting, preferably with German regulatory knowledge.
• Proven ability to work with CEOs, shareholders, investors and external financial stakeholders.
• Fluent in German and English.
