Certified Accountant

About the role

The Universal Kraft group is seeking a Certified Accountant to join its fast‑growing renewable energy business. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statements and supporting tax compliance across our international operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations and expense reports.
• Prepare and review income statements, balance sheets and cash‑flow statements.
• Monitor financial data, identify trends and provide insights for business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal procedures.
• Support tax return preparation, VAT filings and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams for timely processing of financial transactions.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors or regulatory bodies.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and help develop financial systems and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an international or fast‑paced environment.
• Registration with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Primavera or Sage.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
