Certified Accountant

About the role

Universal Kraft group is a fast‑growing renewable energy company seeking a Certified Accountant to join its international finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting decision‑making across our wind, solar, waste‑to‑energy and green hydrogen projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations and expense reports.
• Prepare and review income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
• Monitor financial data, identify trends and provide insights for business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal procedures.
• Support tax return preparation, VAT filings and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams for timely processing of financial transactions.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors or regulators.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and help develop financial systems and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an international or fast‑paced environment.
• Registration with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Organised, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
