Business Development Manager

About the role
The Business Development Manager will lead sales and business development activities within the assigned territory, reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager and EU Market Leader. This role focuses on delivering revenue growth, increasing market share, and securing strategic opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, generic partners, innovative OTC companies, and agents to negotiate licensing and supply agreements.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through market analysis and collaboration with strategic partners.
- Align commercial strategies with the product pipeline and prepare business cases for new opportunities.
- Conduct detailed analyses to select products for development and lead feasibility assessments.
- Maintain close relationships with customers, gather feedback, and address issues to strengthen partnerships.
- Prepare and communicate business plans to management and key stakeholders.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to support strategic objectives.
- Mentor junior team members where applicable.
- Collaborate with Regulatory, R&D, IP, Procurement, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Commercial teams to support product development and commercialization.
Required profile
- Degree in a pharmaceutical‑related discipline (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Medicine or related field).
- Additional qualification in Management, Sales or Business is desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including a minimum of 3 years in business development within an international, multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven track record of negotiating and closing commercial licensing and supply agreements.
- Experience in portfolio management and R&D pipeline selection.
- Strong understanding of regulatory affairs, intellectual property, procurement and supply chain functions.
Required skills
- Advanced English language proficiency.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel.
