Business Analyst (Custody & Tax)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our international IT team in Lisbon. The role focuses on supporting critical custody and securities services platforms, working closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and colleagues across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and analyse needs.
• Challenge and refine requirements through critical analysis.
• Gather, document, and validate functional requirements.
• Produce detailed functional specifications for system enhancements.
• Provide functional expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support and coordinate functional testing activities and assist users during UAT.
• Participate in project delivery, releases, and system evolution initiatives.
• Manage and track change requests related to system updates.
• Identify process improvements and propose solutions for operational gaps.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, timelines, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct peer reviews and share knowledge within the team.
• Provide support for complex business and system issues when required.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Management, Tax, Law or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Strong experience in Custody Services and solid knowledge of Corporate Actions.
• Previous experience working as a Business Analyst.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with Waterfall methodology.
• Ability to work effectively in an international, multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with JIRA.
