Assistant Professor – Analysis and Mathematical Finance

About the role

The Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG) seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor to teach and research in analysis and mathematical finance. The position is based on campus in Lisbon and involves both undergraduate and graduate responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and assess lectures and seminars in analysis and mathematical finance.
• Supervise student projects, theses and dissertations.
• Conduct original research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Participate in curriculum development and academic committees.
• Provide academic advising and contribute to outreach or executive‑education programmes.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in mathematics, particularly analysis and mathematical finance.
• Experience in teaching at university level, including course preparation and student assessment.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex concepts.
• PhD in Mathematics, Mathematical Finance or a closely related discipline.
• Evidence of research potential or an established publication record.
• Fluent English; Portuguese proficiency is a plus or willingness to learn.
