Architect / Senior Architect

About the role

CTS Group is seeking an Architect / Senior Architect to lead the architectural design of data centre and mission‑critical campuses across its EMEA portfolio. Based in Porto, the role covers the full design cycle from concept through detailed design, construction and commissioning, focusing on facility layout, envelope strategy, modularity and security zoning.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver architectural design strategies, master plans, envelope and compartmentation packages from concept to construction issue.
• Ensure compliance with data‑centre standards (Uptime Tier, ANSI/TIA‑942, EN 50600, ISO/IEC 22237, ASHRAE TC 9.9) and resilience targets (N+1, 2N, concurrent maintainability).
• Lead client and authority liaison, preparing submissions for planning and fire‑safety bodies in Portugal.
• Provide technical authority and sign‑off for architectural packages, including legal documents required by Portuguese law.
• Coordinate BIM/Navisworks models, conduct clash detection and enforce modelling standards across civil, structural, MEP, ELV and security disciplines.
• Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, oversee installation quality and manage commissioning‑stage reviews.
• Mentor junior and intermediate architects, checking their output and supporting their development.

Required profile

• Senior‑level architect with proven experience in data‑centre or mission‑critical facility design.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills, able to manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships.
• Familiarity with Portuguese building regulations and authority processes.

Required skills

• BIM and Navisworks coordination.
