AI Principal – Lead Cloud & Data Architecture

About the role

We are seeking an AI Principal to lead the design and implementation of the technical backbone for large‑scale enterprise AI transformation within our Data & Analytics team in Porto. The role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, data engineering and applied AI, offering full architectural ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce architectural standards and best practices for AI solutions across environments.
• Collaborate with data, IT and business stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, secure AI foundations.
• Advise on solution design and target architecture, guiding teams toward future‑proof technical choices.
• Draft technical specifications, monitor development progress and oversee acceptance testing.
• Manage integration, scaling and operational reliability of AI systems, including cost monitoring and model update scheduling.
• Participate in project governance and technical forums, documenting architectural decisions.
• Identify technical risks early and propose mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or IT architecture.
• Proven ability to work with senior technical and business stakeholders in a complex, international organization.
• Strong analytical mindset and a passion for delivering high‑quality AI solutions.
