Advanced Analytics Engineer

About the role

Mercer is looking for an Advanced Analytics Engineer to join its Data Analytics team in Lisbon. This hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the office and focuses on building scalable data solutions for advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks.
• Build workflows to ingest, process, and transform structured and unstructured data.
• Develop reusable data models and datasets for analytics and AI use cases.
• Integrate external systems via APIs and modern data interfaces.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to support MCP integrations and AI‑driven workflows.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑starter mindset with a focus on data quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
