Accountant – US GAAP (Hospitality Focus)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a sharp, reliable Accountant to join its growing Hospitality practice. You will manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of hotels, restaurants and related businesses, ensuring clean books, timely closes and accurate US GAAP reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for multiple hospitality clients, including general ledger management, month‑end close and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions and communicate results.
• Identify discrepancies, process gaps or improvement opportunities and act proactively.
• Adapt quickly to evolving client needs across diverse hospitality operations.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience with full‑cycle close ownership.
• Solid, hands‑on knowledge of US GAAP applied consistently.
• Experience serving US‑based or US‑facing clients.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Self‑directed, organized and able to work without micromanagement.
• Proven performance in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
