Account Manager – Surgical Channel (Porto)

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Account Manager to drive sales and promote its surgical portfolio in the North Portuguese market. You will work with well‑known ophthalmic brands and expand the reach of medical equipment for cataract, contact lenses, and vitrectomy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute customer development strategies and dedicated KAM action plans for assigned accounts.
• Establish and nurture long‑term relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and proposing tailored solutions.
• Lead the preparation of strategic and tactical plans, providing analysis of market potential and key programs.
• Prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts while guiding company initiatives targeting specific accounts.
• Conduct market analysis, including competitive intelligence on key accounts and rivals.
• Organise customer events and programs in collaboration with marketing and medical teams, and implement agreed training activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Key Account Manager or similar, preferably in the ophthalmologic or medical sector.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken) with intermediate Spanish.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Commercial and strategic sales mindset, capable of working independently.
• Proactive, dynamic, and positive attitude with problem‑solving capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Biomedical, Sales, Marketing or a related field.
