Structural Steel Project Director

About the role

Steel and Pipes is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Director to lead multiple complex projects from award through completion. This high‑impact leadership position oversees a team of Project Managers, ensures safe and on‑time delivery, and maintains strong client relationships across the Caribbean and Florida markets.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee multiple structural steel and industrial construction projects simultaneously.
• Mentor, assign, and support a team of Project Managers to ensure successful execution.
• Allocate resources based on workload, expertise, and project requirements.
• Monitor project performance, risks, schedules, and financial outcomes to meet contractual obligations.
• Serve as primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, leading meetings and executive reporting.
• Coordinate activities between drafting, detailing, fabrication, field erection, and project management teams.
• Review proposals, scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Manage subcontractor requirements and conduct site visits as needed.
• Oversee project budgets, cost controls, forecasts, and profitability, including monthly billings and certifications.
• Review construction documents for constructability and collaborate with estimators and detailers during pre‑construction.

Required profile

• Strong background in structural steel fabrication, construction, and industrial projects.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
