Strategic Buyer – Europe

About the role

The Strategic Buyer Europe will own end‑to‑end strategic procurement for assigned categories and project packages, leading complex sourcing events and negotiations to secure the best total value across safety, quality, delivery and total cost of ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, delivering cost savings, cost avoidance and improved total cost of ownership.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contract management, including RFx processes, framework agreements and commercial terms.
• Drive supplier performance through scorecards, QBRs, escalations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with cross‑functional senior stakeholders in Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Operations and Finance to align sourcing strategies and award decisions.
• Champion digitalisation and continuous improvement using data, analytics and AI‑enabled tools to increase sourcing speed, transparency and compliance.
• Manage procurement risk, compliance and governance, ensuring adherence to export controls, sanctions, sustainability requirements and audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of strategic sourcing experience in regulated or industrial environments.
• Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of supplier quality, expediting, inspection regimes and cross‑functional issue resolution.
• Advanced commercial and contractual expertise, including Incoterms, international logistics and total cost of ownership.
• Proven stakeholder management and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior teams.
• Risk, compliance and digital mindset, familiar with export controls, audit documentation and ERP/e‑sourcing tools.
