Special Agent – Mathematics & Data Expertise

About the role

The FBI is seeking candidates with strong mathematics and data expertise to join the Special Agent workforce. In this role you will apply analytical and technical skills to protect the United States from cyber‑attacks, terrorism, fraud and other violent crimes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex data sets to identify patterns and trends related to national security threats.
• Support investigations into cyber‑attacks, terrorism, fraud, and violent crime using data‑driven methods.
• Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to inform operational decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigative teams across the FBI.
• Prepare analytical reports and briefings for senior leadership.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to complete rigorous training and field assignments.
