Senior .NET Engineer – Cloud & AI Microservices

About the role

Komodo Consulting is looking for a Senior .NET Engineer to join a technology client’s team in Lisbon. You will design and deliver high‑performance, cloud‑native microservices while integrating cutting‑edge AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microservices using .NET 8 and clean‑architecture principles.
• Build asynchronous, event‑driven workflows with AWS SNS/SQS, ensuring data consistency and resilience.
• Lead integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into .NET back‑ends, coordinating with Python‑based AI components.
• Develop high‑throughput data pipelines using AWS Data Firehose and Data Streams for real‑time processing.
• Maintain code quality through unit and integration testing with xUnit and WireMock.
• Collaborate with SRE teams to deploy services via GitHub Actions and manage infrastructure with Terraform.
• Utilise AI‑assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to accelerate delivery while overseeing security and efficiency.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in C# and .NET Core/.NET 8, with strong knowledge of framework internals.
• Hands‑on experience building cloud‑native applications on AWS (SNS, SQS, S3, ECS).
• Solid understanding of event‑driven architecture, Pub/Sub, competing consumers and idempotency patterns.
• Experience with Redis or Valkey for caching and state management.
• Interest or experience with LLMs, Python, RAG systems and OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.
• Test‑first mindset with proven unit and integration testing practice.
• Familiarity with Docker, GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
