Senior Full-Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Full‑Stack Engineer based in Portugal who will primarily focus on building and operating high‑scale backend pipelines and data‑intensive systems. The role is backend‑leaning (≈80‑85% backend) with occasional small UI tasks, and you will work in a production environment using Kubernetes and AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ingestion and processing pipelines that handle large data volumes.
• Make architecture decisions around autoscaling, high availability, performance, resilience and failure handling.
• Implement event‑driven components using Kafka producers, consumers and batching pipelines.
• Model schemas, write optimized queries and manage PostgreSQL databases.
• Integrate caching and fast data access with Redis.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot services in AWS and Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers on small UI features and new pages.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑grade backend systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of autoscaling, HA, performance tuning and failure modes.
• Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architectures, especially Kafka.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, schema design and query optimization.
• Experience operating services in AWS and Kubernetes environments.
