Senior Competition & EU Law Associate – Lisbon

About the role

Our client, a leading Tier law firm in Lisbon, is looking for a Senior Associate to join its Competition and EU Law practice. The successful candidate will advise on high‑profile antitrust matters, manage cross‑border merger filings and represent clients before national and EU courts.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on complex merger control matters, including national and EU concentration filings.
• Conduct antitrust investigations into abuse of dominance and restrictive practices.
• Represent clients in private enforcement actions and EU litigation concerning state aid and state infringements.
• Provide strategic regulatory advice on evolving EU competition rules.
• Lead and mentor junior associates and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Serve as primary contact for high‑profile domestic and international clients.

Required profile

• Fully qualified lawyer in Portugal with several years of experience in competition law.
• Master’s degree or LL.M. in European/Competition Law is highly advantageous.
• Proven track record handling complex, cross‑border antitrust matters.
