Senior AWS Cloud Network Engineer

About the role

Amgen’s Capability Center in Portugal is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate a large‑scale, secure, and highly available AWS networking environment. You will work in a collaborative, innovative setting that supports Amgen’s mission to serve patients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS network architectures using Amazon VPC, shared VPC, Transit Gateway, subnetting, route tables, VPC peering, PrivateLink, VPC endpoints and Route 53.
• Implement secure, scalable multi‑account and multi‑region networking patterns.
• Develop and enforce cloud‑network standards, reusable architectures, and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex end‑to‑end connectivity issues across AWS, on‑premises infrastructure, routing protocols, firewalls, DNS and application dependencies.
• Collaborate closely with Cloud Platform, Enterprise Network, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure and application engineering teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive hands‑on experience in AWS networking.
• Strong foundation in enterprise networking technologies and concepts.
• Proven ability to resolve intricate connectivity problems spanning cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Excellent communication skills to work with cross‑functional technology teams.
