Senior Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Auditor to join our professional services center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In this role you will partner with client management to resolve audit issues, provide recommendations for business and process improvements, and supervise audit engagements for a variety of government and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on performance audits, financial statement audits, desk reviews, grant reviews, and agreed‑upon procedures.
• Review standard audit programs, prior work papers, and draft reports to ensure compliance with agency procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive work papers, including planning, testing, and final reporting documentation.
• Perform testing of client records such as payroll, cash disbursements, grants, fund balances, and revenue.
• Coordinate with clients and team members, providing status updates and identifying necessary revisions.
• Prepare reconciliations, analyze contractor data using automation tools, and mentor assigned staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in auditing, attestation, or compliance reviews (government experience a plus).
• Working knowledge of audit standards, including GAGAS and non‑GAGAS.
• CPA license preferred or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a government suitability check.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
