Senior Android Developer (Hybrid, Lisbon)

About the role

Next Engineering is looking for a Senior Android Developer to join its Lisbon team in a hybrid work model. You will be at the forefront of large‑scale projects, using modern Android technologies to deliver high‑quality mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Apply Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle and Jetpack components to build robust features.
• Implement UI/UX following Material Design guidelines and modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI or Clean Architecture.
• Integrate networking layers with Retrofit and handle data formats like JSON and XML.
• Collaborate with Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) and participate in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Manage application lifecycle, testing, and publishing to Google Play Store.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience as an Android developer.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Android UI/UX principles and lifecycle management.
