Procurement Specialist

About the role

ALTEN Portugal is looking for a Procurement Excellence Specialist to drive process improvements, digital transformation and stakeholder engagement across its IT, Engineering and Life Sciences projects. The role will own end‑to‑end initiatives, from analysis to solution delivery, and help position procurement as a strategic business partner.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse data to identify improvement opportunities and support process optimisation.
• Translate business requirements into structured process changes and oversee their execution.
• Develop and maintain implementation plans, coordinate activities and monitor progress of improvement projects.
• Engage stakeholders from Finance, Legal, Quality, Digital and Engineering to deploy new processes and tools.
• Support rollout and adoption of digital procurement tools, including training, communication and post‑implementation feedback.
• Create training materials to build internal capabilities.
• Maintain process documentation and ensure sustainable governance of procurement processes and tools.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in procurement, procurement excellence or supply‑chain roles, preferably as a sourcing buyer or procurement specialist.
• Experience working in international, cross‑functional, project‑based environments.
• Practical knowledge of RFI/RFP processes and strategic sourcing principles.
• Solid understanding of the end‑to‑end procurement cycle from sourcing to payment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
