Principal Data Scientist – Fashion Analytics

About the role

Metyis is seeking a Principal Data Scientist with a strong background in fashion to join its global Data & Analytics team at the Digital Campus in Porto. You will translate complex business challenges into data‑driven solutions that drive impactful change for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client interactions, build and maintain strategic relationships.
• Design and deliver analytics solutions that address fashion‑specific business problems.
• Oversee project management to meet client expectations and timelines.
• Develop presentations and manage external stakeholder communications.
• Identify growth opportunities beyond current project scopes.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate multidisciplinary work.

Required profile

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (e.g., econometrics, AI, mathematics, physics).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data science.
• Experience in the fashion industry, preferably with omnichannel management.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to prioritize key data insights.

Required skills

• SQL, BigQuery, NoSQL databases.
• Python and R programming.
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
• Statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
