Pharmacy Customer Service Associate (Certified)

About the role

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate provides a friendly, efficient checkout experience while supporting the pharmacist in daily pharmacy operations. Working under direct supervision, the associate ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and helps deliver a distinctive, delightful customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Register sales, handle cash, process returns, voids, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
• Assist customers in locating over‑the‑counter items and recommend complementary products.
• Maintain clean, well‑merchandised counters and shelves; perform inventory checks and record keeping.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, fill prescriptions, verify medication accuracy, and check for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and follow the Quality Improvement Program.
• Handle non‑clinical telephone calls, process manual claims for third‑party prescription programs, and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direct supervision of a pharmacist and follow all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with courteous, fair, and efficient checkout skills.
• Attention to detail for accurate prescription entry and medication verification.
• Willingness to adhere to Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
