Part‑Time Retail Shortage Control Associate

About the role

We are looking for a Part‑Time Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a safe and welcoming shopping environment. You will be positioned at store entrances and high‑risk areas, using your presence and knowledge of theft trends to deter dishonest activity while delivering friendly customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance, wearing the designated uniform, radio and earpiece.
• Stand at the front of the store, stay vigilant, and greet every customer with a warm smile and clear verbal greeting.
• Monitor entrances and exits throughout each shift to reduce opportunities for theft and shoplifting.
• Apply knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs aimed at theft reduction.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious behavior to the Manager on Duty.
• Support training of associates on shortage‑reduction processes and act as a safety role‑model.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations (preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment.
• Strong confidentiality, analytical, and business‑trend interpretation skills.
• Positive demeanor, confident posture, and energetic greeting style.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with disciplined decision‑making.
