Mid-level Java Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Mid-level Java Developer to join our Lisbon team in a hybrid working mode. You will work on a critical derivatives platform that supports pre‑trade and post‑trade functionalities for equity‑related products, delivering secure, scalable solutions that create real business value.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain application components with a focus on quality, security and performance.
• Participate in agile development cycles, including analysis, documentation, coding, testing and code reviews.
• Collaborate with production support teams to manage releases and resolve incidents.
• Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide L3 support, troubleshoot issues and maintain platform stability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and long‑term technical enhancements.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java (version 21 or higher) and Spring frameworks.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of asynchronous messaging technologies.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and front‑end frameworks such as Angular or jQuery (optional).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Maven and Git version control.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex codebases.
• Understanding of software testing principles and requirement analysis.
