Logistics Manager

About the role

ALTEN Portugal is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and optimise global transportation and freight activities for its Life Sciences division. The role combines operational expertise with analytical skills to ensure reliable, compliant delivery across an international network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate international transportation activities, ensuring efficient and compliant movement of goods.
• Monitor logistics operations, proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions to maintain service continuity.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders and logistics providers, upholding high service standards.
• Develop, track and analyse key performance indicators, conducting regular reviews and driving continuous improvement.
• Oversee transportation budgets, analyse freight costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
• Support business projects and strategic initiatives with logistics and transportation expertise.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align logistics operations with business objectives and customer requirements.
• Leverage operational data to support decision‑making and enhance overall supply‑chain performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding or transportation management.
• Proven track record managing carrier performance, logistics providers and transportation costs in a global environment.
• Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements is an advantage.
