Immigration Lawyer – Lisbon

About the role

Baker and Co. Associates is expanding its Lisbon office and seeks an experienced Portuguese Immigration Lawyer. The role is client‑facing, requiring independent management of immigration, residency, and company‑formation matters for international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on D2 Entrepreneur, D7 Passive Income, D8 Digital Nomad and D3 Highly Qualified Activity visa pathways.
• Manage visa and residence‑permit applications from initial assessment through completion.
• Handle AIMA applications, appointments, renewals, document requests and procedural follow‑ups.
• Establish Portuguese companies for foreign entrepreneurs and shareholders.
• Prepare and review legal declarations, corporate documents, contracts and supporting submissions.
• Liaise with AIMA, Portuguese consulates, commercial registries, notaries and other authorities.
• Identify legal or documentary risks and propose practical solutions.
• Provide clear, timely updates to clients and internal management.
• Take ownership of assigned cases and progress them proactively.

Required profile

• Qualified Portuguese lawyer, active registration and in good standing with the Ordem dos Advogados.
• Minimum three years of experience in immigration, residency or nationality law.
• Practical experience handling matters before AIMA.
• Strong experience with D2, D7 and D8 applications.
• Proven experience in Portuguese company formation for foreign clients.
• Excellent written and spoken Portuguese and English.
• Highly proactive, professional and able to work independently.
