HVAC Technician (12 hrs rotating shifts)

About the role

Mentor Technical Group (MTG) is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join its technical support team. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems that support FDA‑regulated life‑science facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Turn on ice water monitor system and perform routine checks.
• Repair and maintain air‑conditioning equipment, including belts, motors, and related components.
• Install, wire, and pipe HVAC systems according to standards.
• Calibrate thermostats, adjust system controls, and perform lubrication duties.
• Change filters, replace worn parts, and service steam and hot‑water boilers.
• Run conduit, order supplies, and ensure all materials are available for projects.
• Respond to emergency situations and determine whether components can be repaired or need replacement.
• Fabricate specialty parts when standard components are unavailable.
• Record faults, report time and materials, and comply with cGMP and safety policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid HVAC license.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an HVAC technician.
• Willingness to continue education in the HVAC field.
• Understanding of advanced air‑conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and boiler principles.

Required skills

• HVAC system maintenance and repair.
• Motor and belt inspection, lubrication, and replacement.
• Thermostat calibration and system control adjustment.
• Filter replacement and boiler service.
• Electrical wiring and pipe layout for HVAC installations.
• Conduit installation and parts fabrication.
