General Helper - 2nd Shift

About the role

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a reliable General Helper for the second shift to support machine operators in a sustainable packaging environment. The role focuses on setting up, operating, cleaning, and improving corrugated board production equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and set up machinery according to standardized procedures.
• Load corrugated sheets into the feed section and unload finished products.
• Minimize material waste and operate equipment to produce high‑quality boxes.
• Maintain production equipment at optimal speed and capacity.
• Assist in training new helpers on all tasks.
• Continuously learn to manufacture a variety of box styles.
• Inspect product quality throughout the production process.
• Complete accurate manufacturing and production reports.
• Submit maintenance work orders and proactively maintain equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, cost, and productivity priorities.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in the corrugated cardboard industry is preferred.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, respect, responsibility, and excellence.
