General Foreman – Marine Shipbuilding

About the role

We are seeking a General Foreman to lead our marine shipbuilding operations at the San Juan shipyard. The role oversees mechanical, electrical, paint and metal‑work departments, ensuring high‑quality ship refit and repair projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, paint and metal‑work departments.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor progress and ensure adherence to project schedules and industry standards.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout all work areas.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to guarantee seamless execution of repairs and modifications.
• Review work schedules, resource allocation and material requirements for each department.
• Conduct inspections and quality‑control assessments to uphold workmanship standards.
• Train, mentor and develop team members to improve skills and productivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during project execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in ship repair and refurbishment.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary marine teams.
• Strong problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
