Funeral Director

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Funeral Director to guide families through the difficult process of honoring their loved ones. You will provide personalized, professional care while ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in line with company policies.
• Negotiate funeral contracts, handle legal documents, and collect payments.
• Inform families about veteran recognitions and coordinate delivery of services.
• Manage interment or cremation arrangements and verify authorizations.
• Prepare deceased individuals respectfully, including embalming, dressing, and casket preparation.
• Supervise funeral service logistics such as parking, vehicle operation, and chapel assistance.
• Provide after‑care services, including documentation and benefits information.
• Support pre‑need sales and refer potential clients to Family Service Counselors.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing and regulatory standards.
• Promote community involvement to grow market share.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited mortuary college or technical program as required by law.
• Apprentice or Funeral Director experience meeting state/provincial licensing requirements.
• At least 2 years of directly related experience preferred.
