Environmental Services Aide

About the role

Encompass Health is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across all hospital areas. This position plays a vital part in creating a healing atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient rooms, corridors, offices, and other hospital zones according to quality standards and regulations.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as high dusters, vacuums, mops, floor polishers, and related tools.
• Handle general office equipment and assist in keeping workspaces tidy.
• Follow established procedures for hazardous material handling and exposure situations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues promptly.
• Work independently to meet deadlines and uphold standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, or night shifts as needed.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor polishers, dusters, etc.).
• Hazardous material handling procedures.
• Attention to detail and strong communication abilities.
