Director, Account Management

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Director of Account Management to lead strategic customer relationships and drive long‑term growth across a portfolio of key clients. The role combines commercial leadership with deep client partnership management to deliver revenue expansion and innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the account strategy, P&L and growth plans for strategic clients.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Account Managers to meet business objectives.
• Build and maintain senior‑level client relationships, identifying new opportunities and expanding share of wallet.
• Define and negotiate commercial terms, pricing and deal structures.
• Collaborate with product, finance, legal, marketing and other functions to deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive customer‑centric innovation aligned with market trends.
• Monitor performance using data and insights, and report on contracts, pipelines and outcomes.
• Lead complex transformation projects and ensure operational governance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in account management, sales or business development, preferably in payments, financial services or technology.
• Proven track record of managing large strategic accounts and delivering revenue growth.
• Strong senior‑level client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams within a matrix organization.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
• Effective communication and influencing skills.
